According to literature, more than 140 fungal species can affect seedlings of pines, including 50+ Fusarium species. The members of the F. fujikuroi Sprcies Complex (SC) are most commonly found on pine trees. Fusarium circinatum, the causal agent of the pine pitch canker disease, one of members of this SC, affects pine trees much more severely comparing with all other Fusarium. Currently, F. circinatum is considered a global threat to pine trees and seedlings in all regions of the world with hot and warm climate. In many countries, this species is listed as an quarantine object. The information provided in the article may be useful for specialists in protecting plants in forest nurseries against pest organisms
