In this article researched the role of artistic psychologism in German and Uzbek military prose using the example of the novels of Erich Maria Remarque and Utkir Khoshimov. The novels ''Three Comrades'' and ''Lives passed in the Dreams'' are taken as the objects of analysis. In these works, both writers reflected the psychological state of war participants against the background of the conflict between the hero and the environment, the problem of the era and the hero. Of particular note is the issue of the expression of the idea of pacifism put forward by the authors through the main character's attitude to the war. In today's literary criticism, when analyzing works of art, in particular novels, special attention is paid to such elements as the depiction of the hero's psyche and the inner speech of the characters. Therefore, determining the role of psychologism in determining the idea of war novels and the author's attitude expressed in them is becoming one of the urgent scientific issues. This article studies this problem and refers to scientific sources on the subject. Also, during the analysis, examples from the literary text of the works were given, and the ideas were scientifically substantiated. At the end of the article, the results obtained through the analysis are summarized.
