This article discusses exercise as the main tool for developing students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in primary school native
language lessons, as well as its types. It also presents information on the difference between exercises and tasks given in the
textbook, and the criteria for developing new knowledge and skills. Exercise serves to develop the student while forming their
skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
