THE ARTISTIC FUNCTION OF TITLES IN AHMAD A’ZAM’S NOVELLAS

This article provides a scholarly analysis of the aesthetic characteristics of titles in Ahmad A’zam’s novellas. Within the author’s poetics, the title functions not merely as a conventional labeling tool, but as a condensed aesthetic construct that encapsulates the narrative essence and unveils its symbolic and philosophical strata. Titles such as “Quroq”, “Hali hayot bor…”, “Bu kunning davomi”, and “Asqartog‘ tomonlarda”, though concise in form, summarize the expansive thematic and conceptual content developed throughout the works, guiding the reader toward reflective interpretation. The research elucidates the symbolic dimensions embedded within these titles and their role in foregrounding thematic notions including temporality, hope, spiritual striving, and existential distress. Ultimately, the titles of Ahmad A’zam’s novellas are evaluated as distinct markers of poetic innovation and a refined mode of artistic cognition within contemporary Uzbek prose.
