This article analyzes the representation of the Eastern woman in literary works and the cultural transformation of this image in French and Uzbek translations. The role of the translator as a cultural mediator is examined within the context of translation theories. The article examines examples from Gustave Flaubert’s “Salammbô”, the works of Alisher Navoi, and contemporary Uzbek literature and its translations. The article also explores theoretical and practical aspects of the translation process in the fields of intercultural dialogue and education.
