This article presents a methodology for teaching the topic “Physical and Chemical Properties of Carbon” in the 9th-grade chemistry curriculum based on the 5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate). The study analyzes the role of modern pedagogical approaches in developing and strengthening students’ knowledge of carbon allotropes and its physical and chemical properties. Methodological aspects of using problem-based situations, chemical experiments, collaborative learning, digital educational resources, and assessment criteria in teaching this topic are discussed. The article substantiates that the step-by-step implementation of the 5E model contributes to the development of students’ critical thinking, scientific inquiry skills, communication, and collaboration competencies. The findings indicate that lessons organized according to the 5E model improve the quality of learning and increase students’ interest in chemistry.
