THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE “PULL-PUSH” DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR SCHOOL SYSTEM ASSESSMENT IN PREPARING PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL EVALUATION TESTS

This article provides information on assessment and evaluation, presenting diagrams and tables related to the international assessment test PIRLS. The features of a new diagnostic methodology, conditionally named "Pull-push," are highlighted: 1) the similarity to PIRLS approaches in measuring reading literacy, and 2) the application of the new methodology to two age groups of students: primary and secondary school pupils. The school system assessment, conducted in schools throughout the country, is described in detail as an important element of teachers' professional experience. At Key Stage 4, the measure of school performance has shifted to "Progress 8." The article also examines the proportion of students achieving GCSE qualifications, Ofsted decisions, and the impact of school intervention on examination results
