Ushbu maqolada o‘rta asrlar davrida ayollarning jamiyatdagi yetakchilik salohiyatiga nisbatan falsafiy va diniy qarashlar tahlil etiladi. Avgustin, Grigoriy, Foma Akvinskiy, Anselm Kenterberiylik, Jon Uiklif va Kristin de Pizan kabi allomalarning qarashlari orqali ayollarning ijtimoiy va siyosiy hayotdagi roliga oid tarixiy yechimlar o‘rganiladi.
