This article provides a comprehensive study of the theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of the lexical minimum of the English language for students of economics in universities in Uzbekistan. The research is based on an interdisciplinary approach combining cognitive-linguistic, pragmatic and pedagogical methods of analysis in order to develop scientifically based criteria for the selection and systematization of professionally significant lexical units. These studies demonstrate a significant improvement in students' language training, justifying the need to integrate a thematically organized lexical minimum into modern educational programs
