Guide for Authors

Journal published by the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, publishes peer‑reviewed research across all areas of modern chemical science. Submissions are accepted in Uzbek, Russian, and English. By submitting, authors confirm originality, that the work is not under consideration elsewhere, and that all authors approve the final manuscript.

1. Manuscript Categories

  • Research Article — full reports of original research (typically 8–12 pages; no strict limit).
  • Short Communication — concise reports of timely findings (4–6 pages).
  • Review / Mini‑Review — critical, balanced syntheses of the literature (up to ~25 pages for full reviews).
  • Perspective / Commentary — forward‑looking or methodological insights (2–6 pages).
  • Methods / Protocols — validated experimental, analytical, or computational procedures.
  • Data / Software Notes — well‑documented datasets, code, or simulation inputs of community value.

2. Formatting and Layout

File: MS Word (*.doc/*.docx). Page: A4 (210×297 mm), portrait; margins 25 mm on all sides; single spacing; Times New Roman 14 pt (12 pt permitted in tables), paragraph indent 1.25 cm; justified; pages numbered; no hyphenation.

3. Manuscript Structure (in order)

  1. UDC (Universal Decimal Classification).
  2. Title — ALL CAPS, concise and informative.
  3. Authors — Full Name(s); ORCID(s); affiliation(s) (department, institution), city, country.
  4. Corresponding Author — email and postal address (if applicable).
  5. Abstract (150–250 words) in Uzbek, Russian, and English, clearly stating purpose, methods, key results, and conclusions.
  6. Keywords (5–8) in three languages.
  7. Main Text — suggested sections: Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Conclusions.
  8. Acknowledgments and Funding — include grant numbers and contributors not meeting authorship criteria.
  9. Conflict of Interest Statement — disclose all financial and non‑financial interests.
  10. Data and Materials Availability Statement — where primary data, code, and materials can be accessed.
  11. References — numbered list (see style below).
  12. Supplementary Information — figures, tables, datasets, spectra, and protocols as needed.

4. References

Journal uses a numbered reference style with in‑text citations in square brackets, e.g., [1]. List references in order of citation. Include DOIs where available. Examples:
[1] Smith, J.; Kim, H. Title of Article. Journal Name 2024, 12 (3), 123–135. https://doi.org/xx.xxxx/xxxxx
[2] Doe, A. B. Title of Book; Publisher: City, 2023.
[3] IUPAC. Compendium of Chemical Terminology, 2nd ed.; 2014.

5. Figures, Schemes, and Tables

  • Embed figures and tables near first mention; center them; supply editable originals upon request.
  • Image size: ≥60×60 mm and ≤110×170 mm; figures at ≥300 dpi (TIFF/PNG) or vector (SVG/EPS/PDF).
  • Captions: figure captions below; table titles above; 12 pt; concise and self‑contained.
  • Do not use italics/bold in table bodies; 12 pt permitted for tables.
  • Color is welcome; ensure accessibility (patterns/labels).
  • Provide scale bars for micrographs; report instrument/model and key settings.

6. Nomenclature, Units, and Reporting Standards

  • Follow IUPAC nomenclature and SI units; use standard abbreviations after first definition.
  • Chemistry reporting: include sufficient experimental detail for reproducibility.
  • Spectroscopy: NMR (solvent, frequency, δ in ppm, multiplicity, J in Hz); HRMS (m/z, calcd/found); IR (cm⁻¹).
  • Crystallography: deposit CIF files with CCDC/ICSD; provide deposition numbers.
  • Computational: specify software/version, method, functional/basis set or pseudopotentials, k‑mesh, convergence thresholds; share inputs if possible.

7. Chemical Safety and Ethics

  • Include a Safety Statement describing hazards, PPE, risk mitigation, and waste handling for dangerous substances or procedures.
  • Human/animal studies require prior ethics approval; include committee name and approval number; follow international and national regulations.

8. Data, Code, and Materials Availability

Authors must provide a Data Availability Statement. Deposit datasets, spectra, and code in trusted repositories when feasible (e.g., institutional repositories, Zenodo, OSF). Provide accession numbers/links. Raw data supporting key claims should be available on request.

9. Authorship, CRediT, and ORCID

  • Journal uses the CRediT taxonomy for contributions (e.g., Conceptualization, Investigation, Writing—Original Draft).
  • Authorship requires substantial contributions, drafting/revision, approval of the final version, and accountability for integrity.
  • ORCID iD is required for the corresponding author and strongly encouraged for all authors.

10. Preprints, Prior Dissemination, and Conferences

Journal permits submissions previously shared as preprints (e.g., ChemRxiv, arXiv) provided disclosure is made in the cover letter and manuscript. Cite the preprint DOI. Conference abstracts or posters do not preclude submission.

11. Submission, Peer Review, and Appeals

  • Submit via the journal’s online system (website link to be announced).
  • Initial editorial screening for scope, completeness, and integrity is followed by double‑anonymized peer review by at least two experts.
  • Decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. Revised manuscripts should include a point‑by‑point response.
  • Appeals and complaints: send a reasoned letter to the Editor‑in‑Chief; a senior editor not involved in the original decision will reassess.

12. Post‑Acceptance and Publication

  • Proofs: Authors will receive page proofs; return corrections within the specified timeframe (content changes are limited).
  • Open Access: Articles are published open access; the default license is CC BY 4.0 unless otherwise stated.
  • Fees: No submission, review, or publication charges at this time.
