Development of a systematic comprehensive monitoring and assessment of the achievements of children of senior preschool age
with mental retardation, which contribute to the creation of conditions for the realization of the potential of each child with special
educational needs. The tasks used allowed to identify the differences in the level of lexical development in children with special
educational needs. The differentiation coefficient ranged from 0.59 to 0.81, and the reliability of the measurement tools, assessed
by repeated testing at six-week intervals, was confirmed by high correlation coefficients (from 0.71 to 0.82).
