The article analyzes ways to improve the methodology for organizing students’ research activities in higher education. Its
relevance is linked to the need to integrate education, science, and practice, and to develop students’ independent analytical
thinking. The study is based on qualitative analysis of legal acts and international literature on undergraduate research and the
teaching–research nexus. As a result, a staged model is proposed that includes diagnostic, motivational, methodological, project,
presentation, and reflective components. The article argues that effective student research should be organized on the basis of
continuity, mentoring, academic integrity, digital support, and outcome assessment.
