This article analyzes the role and significance of the cognitive-paradigmatic approach in the translation of literary texts, particularly short stories. The study also examines the influence of conceptual systems, metaphorical models, and linguistic-cultural tools on translation. The results demonstrate that in the translation process, it is important to adequately convey not only linguistic units but also the author's conceptual worldview. Furthermore, when translating a literary text, equivalence is also important, requiring the translator to use appropriate stylistic devices to match the content of the original. The process of translating a literary text involves several stages, all of which are discussed in this article
