TARJIMADA LINGVOMADANIY VA PRAGMATIK OMILLAR
The article examines the translation of Persian and Turkish compliments from linguocultural and pragmatic perspectives. Compliments are viewed not only as forms of praise, but also as speech acts expressing respect, gratitude, politeness, tact, social closeness and communicative solidarity. The article argues that literal translation often fails to convey the pragmatic force of such units. Therefore, translators should employ functional equivalents, descriptive translation, cultural adaptation and pragmatic compensation.
