The article examines the theoretical foundations of denotative and connotative meanings in translation studies and their significance in the translation process. It analyzes the role of denotative meaning in conveying objective information and the function of connotative meaning in expressing emotional, evaluative, and cultural nuances. The study discusses the challenges of preserving these semantic components in literary and journalistic translation. The findings indicate that translation adequacy depends not only on rendering denotative meaning but also on maintaining the connotative and pragmatic effects of the source text.
