BRAILLE OR AUDIO: PSYCHOLINGUISTIC ASPECTS OF LITERARY TEXT PERCEPTION AND COMPREHENSION AMONG PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS
This article presents a comparative psycholinguistic analysis of two primary channels of literary text perception by visually
impaired individuals: Braille script and audio format. It examines the tactile-cognitive features of Braille reading and the auditory
mechanisms of audio perception. The study concludes that both formats possess distinct cognitive advantages, and their
effectiveness depends on the reader's age, the nature of the impairment, and the text genre.
