IMPROVING FUTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ SKILLS IN TEACHING ROBOTICS TOPICS: CHALLENGES AND SHORTCOMINGS
The process of improving future primary school teachers’ skills in teaching robotics topics is accompanied by several challenges and shortcomings. In higher education institutions, theoretical knowledge often predominates, while practical training opportunities remain insufficient. The lack of robotics laboratories, modern equipment, software tools, and methodological resources negatively affects the quality of professional preparation. In addition, interdisciplinary integration between robotics, technology, mathematics, and science subjects is not implemented effectively. Future teachers often experience difficulties in applying robotics-based activities in classroom practice due to limited digital competence and inadequate methodological support. Therefore, enhancing practical training, strengthening STEAM-based approaches, and developing digital and pedagogical competencies are essential for preparing future primary school teachers to effectively teach robotics concepts in modern educational environments.
