This article examines the vocabulary of Muhammad Riza Erniyazbek oghli Ogahiy’s literary-didactic translations from Persian into Uzbek, namely Saadi Shirazi’s Gulistan and Husayn Waiz Kashifi’s Akhlaq-i Muhsini, from a thematic-semantic perspective. The study classifies the lexical units found in the translated texts into such thematic groups as human beings, society, social relations, morality and etiquette, religious and educational concepts, power and governance, professions and occupations, and material and spiritual values. Ogahiy’s translation skills are analyzed in terms of lexical choice, the re-expression of meaning through the resources of the national language, and the integration of Arabic and Persian loanwords with the internal resources of the Uzbek language
