This article analyzes the role of emotional and social intelligence in the professional self-awareness of teachers. It is also emphasized that a high level of emotional and social intelligence is required in the professional activity of teachers, and this intelligence has a greater influence on professional effectiveness than mental intelligence. Based on the research of scientists, the positive influence of the development of social and emotional intelligence in teachers on the quality of education is described. The article also discusses the process of personal and professional self-awareness of teachers in the socio-cultural environment and modern methods of developing emotional intelligence.
