ON THE DEPICTION OF GENDER-SPECIFIC UNITS IN TRANSLATION
The alternative nature of translation is determined by the degree to which the structure and meaning of the original text are fully reflected in the translation. However, there are such phenomena in society that, the translator sometimes hesitates, sometimes finds it difficult to fully reveal the characteristic aspects of different nations and cultures in translation. One of such problematic, two-sided issues is the representation of gender-specific cultural concepts in translation. Since gender discrimination is very widespread and entrenched in almost all nations and societies of the world, the use of the gender category in language in stereotypical and discriminatory forms, consciously or unconsciously, is often found, and this situation is also present in literature. This article addresses the issue of representing such phenomena in translation.
