This article explores ways to develop students' information modeling skills in the process of teaching optics in higher education.
The issues of systematization of theoretical knowledge of students and the development of their ability to combine them with
practice, the formation of information modeling skills in the study of physical phenomena and processes using information
technologies on the example of the optics section are considered.
The didactic possibilities of using pedagogical software in the study of optical phenomena and processes are also justified.
