This article analyzes modern approaches to working with literary texts, particularly folk tales. It explores the potential of using fairy tales for moral and aesthetic education, as well as for developing students' critical thinking and creative text engagement skills based on theoretical and practical foundations. A methodological model for working with fairy tales is proposed, drawing on practical sessions with students of the “Primary Education” program at Urgench State Pedagogical Institute. The model integrates PIRLS assessment standards, interactive methods (cluster, insert, case-study, etc.), and creative tasks.
