FUNGAL DISEASES OF ALLIUM L. SPECIES IN THE TASHKENT BOTANICAL GARDEN AND THE INFLUENCE OF ECOLOGICAL (CLIMATIC) FACTORS ON THEM
This study investigated fungal diseases occurring in more than 30 species of the genus Allium L. from the Allium Garden
collection established in 2018 at the Tashkent Botanical Garden named after Fyodor Rusanov. As a result of the study, the fungi
Cladosporium macrocarpum, Stemphylium vesicarium, and Stemphylium allii were identified, with the highest level of infection
observed in Allium giganteum Regel. Allium giganteum introduced from the foothill areas of Sherobod district in the
Surxondaryo Region showed a high level of susceptibility to disease, which is presumed to be associated with climatic
differences. A comparative analysis based on NASA/POWER data for the period 2010–2025 revealed significant climatic
differences between the natural habitat (Sherobod foothills: mean annual temperature +18.9 °C, precipitation 174 mm, relative
humidity 38%) and the Botanical Garden in Tashkent (+14.5 °C, 413 mm, 49%). Higher humidity and lower temperatures
created favorable conditions for the development of Cladosporium macrocarpum.
