LANGUAGE ACQUISITION AND ITS RESEARCH IN THE BLIND
This article provides a psycholinguistic analysis of the mechanisms by which visually impaired individuals acquire and understand word meanings during the language acquisition process. It explores the dependence of word meaning on cognitive, affective, and sensory experiences, as well as how this process unfolds in the context of visual limitations, based on the perspectives of various researchers. The article highlights the role of auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic perception in shaping word meaning. It uses scientific sources to explain how visually impaired individuals perceive visual concepts like “color,” “light,” and “blue sky.”
